It’s not just cars. It’s also 3D printing sculpture, building furniture, and even food. Case in point: The Great British Baking Show. It’s like Top Gear for cookies. Which is to say, makes me hungry.
Anyone else have a maker obsession?

Haha. Here you go: http://www.diggerlandusa.com/
Apparently, these things are actually quite popular. There’s several in the US and a few in the UK as well!
Last night I started designing my own headphones.

The Great British Bake Off is currently the biggest show in the UK, doemstic viewing figures exceeding 10 million regularly. It’s highest of 14.2 million is less than a million away from Top Gear’s highest ever. I’m glad the biggest show is something like this not something really crappy.

A prairie education experience. It includes a 350ft long limestone wall, shaded amphitheater, weathering steel cut and a series of platforms.
The kids in the rendering are a bit too tall

Dude, that’s awesome. And here I was thinking I was cool designing my own headphones in Tinkercad.
In fairness though, I took a 3d scan of the side of my head and am working on custom moldings for the cans.

Awesome! That sounds really cool, 3D scanning is a neat technology.

Never watched The Great British Bake Off but I do enjoy Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins. Mary Berry, I’d never heard of.

The wife and I just finished watching all seasons of GBBO. I did not expect to like it at all. My favorite thing about it is that they don’t create drama for the sake of tv and they are all excellent to each other.
But as for making things... That’s the other reason I like it so much. I’m no cook or baker at all but it was fun to watch them make all sorts of amazing creations. Shows like “How It’s Made” are great too.

I live for making things :) I absolutely love it :)
I’m currently making an I6 Triumph Spitfire, and I’ve got another Spitfire on the way which will get a slant 4 engine swap, both of which involve a lot of fabricating.
So far this year I’ve made two shelves for my room, a steel legged table, a steel lily for my girlfriend (and another for my mum’s birthday), a horseshoe candle holder out of two of my sister’s horse’s cast-offs and a car trailer from a caravan!
Next on the list to make is a 45lb draw recurve bow made of pvc pipe, a jig to make adjustable tubular wishbones for Spitfires/GT6s, a bigger 4-berth garage (2x2) with work area, a parts storage shed and some open car-port shelters :)
Having written it all out, I like to keep busy don't I!

Check out the John Neeman Tools channel on Youtube. It will kill way too much of your time and you will feel completely useless after watching a few videos.

Same here - I used to watch lots of cooking shows as a little kid.
...are you Scottish by chance? I spent about 3+ months there last year and they’re the only people that I know that say “wee lad” ;)

no i just use lots of cromulent words that aren’t as common. I like to think it’s because I am intelligent and well read and watch lots of british shows, but I think I just get bored with the same ol words.
